DSPS/SSPS Immobilization System organigram showing shared hardware, DSPS double-shell configurations for SRS/SRT and Prone/Pediatrics/BOS, and SSPS single-shell configurations for IMRT, Head and Neck, and Kyphotic/Pituitary

DSPS/SSPS® Immobilization System
MacroMedics® · original head & neck positioning line
Shared hardware ONE CRADLE — ALL 5 CONFIGURATIONS
SSPS cradle – S-Type baseplate111520 / SSPS-CHS
DSPS cradle – Brainlab High112750 / DSPS-CTBH
HeadTilt 25° – kyphotic / pituitary171560 / S-HT25
Prone Tool Set – prone cases112650 / DSPS-PTSET
Carbon fiber · <1% attenuation at most beam angles
Docks to any manufacturer's H&N baseplate
DOUBLE SHELL
DSPS® configurations
Occipital + facial mask · 2 configurations
SRS / SRTFor SRS / SRT
Occipital acts as "second skin" – rigid mold
Facial not overstretched → extremely rigid
Both masks non-shrinking · no head support needed
Published submm accuracy (MAASTRO data)
Head only masks – 4 variants (FOS series)
H+N+S masks – 6 variants (Orfit + S-Type)
PRONEProne / Pediatrics / BOS
Facial mask molded supine first → patient comfort
Prone reference bridge ensures correct height
Occipital molded prone → max beam access to occiput
Prone Tool Set required: DSPS-PTSET
Prone head only mask: DSPS-FOP (set of 5)
SINGLE SHELL
SSPS® configurations
Mask to cradle rim only · 3 configurations
IMRTIMRT – head only
Mask stretched only to cradle rim, not baseplate
Compact, solid mask → superior stability
Standard: SSPS-F (115510)
Open face: SSPS-FVR (115810)
H&NHead & Neck
Same cradle as IMRT config – swap mask only
Orfit style: SSPS-FSO (115620)
Type-S: SSPS-FSS (115720)
Type-S open face: SSPS-FSVRS (115820)
KYPHOTICKyphotic & Pituitary
HeadTilt adapter required (S-HT25)
Up to 25° angulation in 5° increments
Helps avoid optic nerve in pituitary cases
Compatible with any SSPS mask set

The most important thing the diagram makes clear is the hardware section at the top: the same carbon fiber cradle (either the S-Type or Brainlab version) is the foundation for all five configurations. A clinic buying this system isn’t buying five products — they’re buying one cradle and then selecting masks that define the clinical use. That has a real implication for WooCommerce: the cradle should be a Simple Product with all five mask ranges shown as cross-sells, and the mask products should each link back to the cradle as a required companion product.

The blue/purple split also highlights a key distinction that’s easy to miss in the catalog: DSPS® (double shell, blue) and SSPS® (single shell, purple) aren’t two separate product lines — they’re two operating modes of the same hardware. DSPS® wraps the patient in two shells simultaneously, which is why it delivers the published submm SRS accuracy. SSPS® uses only one shell stretched to the cradle rim rather than the baseplate, which is the core innovation for IMRT — eliminating the overstretching problem that makes traditional thermoplastic setups less stable. Same cradle, fundamentally different clinical logic.
