BiomarC

Standard gold markers tend to overly artifact in CT, can be difficult to see in MRI, and can shadow and perturb the beam making them inappropriate for proton therapy applications. The BiomarC line of fiducial markers consists of a low density zirconium-oxide ceramic core sheathed in a pyrolytic carbon coating. This unique combination provides a marker with the following properties:

• BiomarC is easily visible in MRI due to the superb electric insulating properties of ceramics
• BiomarC has an extremely low density, dramatically reducing CT artifact and beam pertubation
• BiomarC has the exceptional biocompatibility of carbon
